I'm very interested in weird soundscapes like these because I just love how they embellish each song. I look forward to trying to figure these out, I've been doing a ton of research and have been failing hardcore. is this achieved by taking a cymbal waveform in battery/audacity and just reversing it? it sounds amazing!!

YouTube - Radiohead - Nude at :12 seconds in the song Nude by Radiohead, there is a reverse cymbal thingy going on in the background. what exactly is used to get this sound?Ĥ. ive heard this sound before but have a lot of trouble getting it. at 3 seconds in, there is a really cool kinda reverse, cutting sound. YouTube - Beck - Lost Cause this is lost cause by beck. yet i am dumbfounded as to how they do it. If i can figure out these two sounds i would be very very happy. this is one of the biggest mysteries that I would be the most thrilled to figure out. at 1:36-2:10, there is a very strange glitchy effect going on and it sounds absolutely incredible. Morning Bell This song is Morning Bell by radiohead. I have a very hard time trying to figure out certain weird sounds. it kinda just shimmers in and out and it's really cool. There is a part at 2:01-2:05 and I have no idea what that sound is.

I look forward to joining your little family here and thought I'd introduce myself with some very gear-specific questions (at least I think so). I was wondering if you guys could point me in the right direction. I come to you all because I am literally dumbfounded by some of the sounds that bands like Radiohead and Muse make and have virtually NO idea how they do it.
